My parents were Jamaican’s who came to England in 1958. I was born in 1960; Paddington and grew up in Nottinghill Gate. I went to my local junior school and after that to Christopher Wren in White City – West London Born and Bread. After secondary school, I went to do a foundation course at Byam Shaw school of art in Notting hill, when finished I did three years at Goldsmiths college and studied graphic design; as you do…
I got into illustrating record covers when I was working for the London cartoon Centre in Ladbroke Grove. At the time I was a lecturer, where I was working as a airbrush tutor. There I met the manager of Renegade Soundwave mucians who produced dance music, the manager was looking for a airbrush artist to do artwork for them, you can say I was in the right place at the right time, so that was my first record cover design , the track was called the phantom. And well the rest you know is history I got the gig and produced 3 iconic piece of art, the first one seen here is Space Gladiator.
I’ll be throwin’ up some old bits, and some new stuff on here. Why not eh?
